This course introduces students to the basic institutions and processes of government in Canada. It deals with the major challenges Canada faces in its political process. Specific emphasis is given to the origins, development and changing nature of Canadian political institutions. Constitutional , regional, gender and aboriginal issues, and the impact of economic and social cleavages on political behaviour are analyzed.
