The EA-115 course, *Supporting Students with Exceptionalities*, focuses on developing a comprehensive understanding of the key concepts and practical applications necessary for Education Assistants (EAs) to effectively support students with diverse needs in the classroom. Students will explore the differences between adaptations and modifications, learn how to assist in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and gain insight into the role EAs play in delivering personalized support. Through interactive activities and critical analysis, participants will create practical classroom resources and adapt lessons to meet individual student needs. This course emphasizes the importance of applying critical knowledge to real-life situations, fostering collaborative relationships within school teams, and equipping EAs with the tools to enhance student learning. By the end of the course, students will have developed both a theoretical and hands-on skill set, preparing them to contribute meaningfully in inclusive educational environments.
