In this course, students will acquire the knowledge and skills to be effective team members in providing support to people who are facing communication challenges. Students will gain an appreciation of the importance of communication in their own lives and in the lives of the people they support. Students will be introduced to a variety of augmentative and alternative systems and devices. Students will learn hands on strategies in assisting people to overcome communication barriers.
